Projects
A project is where the work happens. Create one from scratch or convert an approved quote — the client, scope and budget carry over automatically.
Project basics
Section titled “Project basics”Each project has a number, title, client, optional property, status (not started, in progress, on hold, completed, cancelled), priority, start/end dates, budget and a project manager. A timeline records every important event (created, status changes, tasks completed).
Break the job into tasks and subtasks with assignees, dates, priorities and estimated hours. Workers see their tasks in My Tasks, can start/stop work (with location), and post completion updates with photos to the task feed. Progress can be recalculated from completed tasks, and marking tasks complete is restricted to managers and above.
Materials, photos and change orders
Section titled “Materials, photos and change orders”- Materials — plan quantities from your catalog, track quantity used and cost.
- Photos — job-site photos with captions, stored securely, visible in the project gallery.
- Change orders — scope changes with a cost impact; approve or reject each one. Approved change orders count toward project cost.
Equipment & subcontractors
Section titled “Equipment & subcontractors”Assign equipment to projects and log usage hours (maintenance schedules and depreciation live in the Equipment module). Assign subcontractors with a contracted amount, track payments to them and their payment status, and keep reviews per subcontractor.
Financials
Section titled “Financials”The Financials card (managers and above) shows the project’s real economics:
- Revenue — invoiced vs. actually received
- Costs — materials + approved expenses + subcontractor payments + labor (hours × rate) + approved change orders
- Profit and margin
The same numbers roll up in the Profitability report.
Invoicing the project
Section titled “Invoicing the project”Create invoice builds a draft invoice from everything used on the project — materials, equipment, time entries and approved expenses (details).
